The forced fumble and the pick six are the two things I point to as game winners.

name one player on the team who made an impact over the WHOLE GAME besides the QB. maybe tramon williams could make a claim since he had the INT for a TD and broke up the last pass play. but those are two plays over an entire game's worth of defense. clay matthews was mostly a non-entity until the forced fumble. none of the receivers really had more than an average day, the running game was barely adequate, and after that you've got around 18 or 19 guys who did their part but didn't stand out. for this reason it will always be the QBs who are the de facto MVP of the super bowl every time.
So, yeah, I'd give it to Williams or Matthews over Rodgers. I'd probably give it to Nelson over Rodgers, too, but if you want to make it about the passing game he has about as much claim as Rodgers. Takes two guys to complete a pass, y'know.

All that said, yes, most eyes will turn to the QB regardless of the actual PLAY, but that doesn't make it right.

He did get pushed into Roethlisberger at a very inopportune time.

Again, I'm just saying give credit where it's due, and that's the Packers defence, by a fair margin.
