99% of people who buy books buy books that ARE stocked in chain stores. The niche audience like you - multilingual, interested in obscure historical accounts of battles - is not a driving force in any of this market change.

In other words, I don't think it's a matter of the lack of selection in brick and mortar stores - it's the ease of buying online, coupled with the rise of ebooks.
