"Speakers were careful to point out that many findings still amounted only to hypotheses" Joel Send a noteboard - 18/03/2011 01:31:44 PM
Despite Limbaughs claiming otherwise for the sake of questions he ludicrously calls "legitimate". The EESC President merely called for global solidarity, and noted in passing that climate change is another case where this is advisable, since the tsunamis impact on some islands has been exacerbated (but not CAUSED) by global warming. While American conservatism and internationalism have never gotten on well, the formers case against the latter should be made without raising questions illegitimately based on invented facts. Speaking of invented facts, I was rather disappointed to see Huckabee quoted in the marquee at the link saying, in regard to the President, that most of us grew up going to boy scout meetings rather than madrasas. I'd have thought that beneath him (Huckabee, I mean) and regret that it seemingly isn't.

See below.

So my statement stands: No one is blaming the tsunami on global warming, certainly not scientists at a meeting six months before it happened. Let's not make the tragedies in Japan an excuse for political attacks against people for things they haven't said.

You need to reread what I said - 16/03/2011 10:49:45 PM 658 Views

No. You don't get to say, "what he said doesn't matter because of how we learned of it". - 16/03/2011 11:54:46 PM 718 Views
I told you, I'm done in this thread - 16/03/2011 11:59:08 PM 651 Views

I think Republicans should stop using "legitimate". I do not think it means what they think it means - 16/03/2011 04:11:14 PM 814 Views
there are enough carzies on the left to make things like this easy for Rush - 16/03/2011 04:20:47 PM 735 Views
So it doesn't matter that no one said it as long as he can plausibly claim they did. - 16/03/2011 06:58:17 PM 656 Views
well since it is taken out of context it is hard to say where Rush was going with it - 16/03/2011 07:19:46 PM 753 Views
Um... he stated where he was going with it. - 16/03/2011 07:30:02 PM 722 Views

It's the same standard, whatever you choose to believe. - 16/03/2011 09:08:01 PM 787 Views
I don't thinkit is as clear as you make it out to be - 16/03/2011 09:31:53 PM 684 Views
It is not just "possible" he's talking about islands affected by global warming; he says it outright - 16/03/2011 10:09:16 PM 856 Views
Sorry but I still fail to see how the islands he mention are a sign of what needs to be done - 16/03/2011 10:27:20 PM 721 Views
Hey, guys! - 16/03/2011 10:55:07 PM 614 Views
and how its that different than what I said? *NM* - 16/03/2011 11:14:46 PM 279 Views
Then you don't understand context and this whole discussion is pointless. - 16/03/2011 11:28:47 PM 796 Views
lets throw a little context at asnd see if it matters - 17/03/2011 12:12:03 AM 684 Views
