First off I said I believe he was born in the US and I am not arguing otherwise. When he was born there was long form birth certificate created and signed by the doctor who delivered him and that is what the birthers are demanding to see. If they they have justification to demand that is highly questionable but such a document should exist. Obama could end the entire controversy by producing that document. Since I believe he was born in a Haywain hospital I think the document must exist so I have to ask why Obama won't produce it if ending the controversy was real goal. I suspect Obama loves this issue and wants to get as much mileage out of it as possible. I am not questioning Obama's qualification to hold office I am questioning his sincerity.
From a political perspective he can continue to let "birthers" keeping making asses of themselves. I've heard the theory that producing it might be his "October Surprise". We'll see, but it is more politically expedient for him to not show.
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...
