I need to know British words that I (American) wouldn't use. Not super goofy, not crass, just normal (to you) words. For general conversational use.


A man visiting said that he saw a mouse in my toilet. I very shockedly replied, " a mouse!?! In my toilet?!?! Did you flush it? :O"

The daughter said, "eehm, dad... The the toilet here isn't the room you wahk into, but the actual basin you do your business in. They call it the bahth room."

I felt better after that explanation. He was merely informing that my trap had worked. XD
