I don't think he should have ever had to release it to the public, quite honestly. Having it on record in the state of Hawaii should have been good enough and I find it a bit demeaning to force a president to show us his birth certificate. If the office in Hawaii says it's there and legal, it should have been good enough for us.
I'm not the biggest Obama fan (but also not a hater) but this whole birth certificate thing spun way out of control thanks to overly imaginative fools. Did they think that all through his life, his parents were never asked for proof of citizenship? Of course they were. You have to show a birth certificate just to play little league baseball for crying out loud. Then again for school. Then again to run for public office. Providing the document to officials of such institutions is one thing. Displaying it to the public is another. Forcing him to make it public is saying that everyone who was involved with any of these things throughout his life was either incompetent or lying for him. Really? That's what we're saying? Come on, my fellow conservatives, we're smarter than that.
