Are we really getting tons of new members at this site? Really? There's the occasional one that joins and doesn't leave within 6 weeks, but I'm skeptical of the notion that changing would kill our supposed rapid growth, when as far as I can tell we're not growing at all. If we really are gathering lots of new members and expanding at a strong clip, and I've simply failed to notice, I will eat my hat of course. I'd be interested to see some stats on numbers of new posters, and how long those new posters stay active on average, though. I'm guessing our stats are pretty low on both counts. I'm also curious now to find out if any other forums still use this style of board, and how their stats compare to ours and to sites that use a bulletin board style.

I also don't think any old fogeys will up and leave simply because of a board-style change. If you're staying at the site only for the board style rather than the content ON the boards, then I'm somewhat curious about that. Hell, I'm still here, even though the site has a board style I don't like that much, because I enjoy the content of the site.
