I'll believe you if you say you're sure that he doesn't have a bladder issue or something, but in my experience, that is the strongest reason for refusing to go in the box. Either that or he really doesn't like the type of litter you're using. Some cats will avoid types they hate.

I can't think of anything else right now, but I will ask my little sister. They are neutered, right? How old were they when they were neutered?
