The S&P demanded more cuts, Obama refused, our rating was downgraded. Once you wake up from your silly liberal dream, reply to this post so we can have a reasonable chat.

You can get that through spending cuts, but you can also get it by raising taxes; S&P explicitly cited GOP inability to grasp that latter concept in their statement downgrading US bonds. They further cited Republicans turning a routine debt ceiling extension into a doomsday scenario. So all of Obamas blame in this boils down to granting all Republican demands instead of holding the line even if it cost him the Presidency (like he said he would). Ironically, and poetically, NOT holding the line is now likely to cost him re-election.
