Hm, so there's a broad Divine Plan, but it doesn't matter either way who wins the Super Bowl? beetnemesis Send a noteboard - 08/09/2011 05:25:23 PM
In the Christian religion at lest you are not encourages to pray for god to give you what you want but for his guidance to follow his plan. The argument seems to assume that there is a plan of every thing that will happen down to the smallest detail but I don't think the bible supports that argument.

That seems pretty reasonable, though "all-knowing, all-powerful, all-good" might imply that everything matters. That is, it's not like praying for something would cause God to go, "Oh! Well, I hadn't really thought about that. Well, sure kid, if you want it, have a big bonus/sunny day for a picnic/cancer-free dad/personal revelation this year!"

One would expect all of that to be taken into account already, right?
I amuse myself.

The real answer is there is no effect because God is not real. - 08/09/2011 02:23:00 PM 464 Views

Your argument only works if you get to decide who and what god is, like I said strawman - 08/09/2011 06:32:17 PM 491 Views
