after all, the current leadership of congressional and senatorial republicans aren't in office to do the people's business, they're only there to make sure obama is not re-elected. why bother compromising for the good of the country when your political majority is at stake?
i would not be surprised in the least that republicans will raise taxes if they win out next year because it's exactly the kind of thing that happens every election cycle. just like i'm sure that 90% of people will completely forget this stupid no tax pledge when their taxes go up in the next president's term....
