Now I will admit my grammar is not outstanding but I typically don't have trouble being understood when speak. My typing is so slow my head is a sentence or two ahead of my fingers. When I was in college I would either write my papers out by hand and have my wife type them or type them myself and then have her edit them for typing mistakes. I ask but she isn't really willing to do the same for my on line post. I don't know if I am putting more effort into editing now than I used to, I think my typing is simply getting better. I know I am faster even if backspace is still the most used key on my keyboard at least now I can type without looking at the keys.
Either way using your for you're isn't really a grammar issue it is a spelling issue. I will agree that I need to get better at typing what I mean to say but I don't believe improving my grammar will make me more understandable.
