I blame the press random thoughts Send a noteboard - 19/10/2011 09:05:36 PM
Instead of pointing out that the attacks are groundless and that yes the senator did vote against moms and apple pie he so only because it was attached to a giant spending bill that would have broken the budget and the senator came out at the time and stated he supported moms and apple pie but had to vote against the bill anyways. Instead what we get is the press forcing the candidate to defend his vote and dragging him off message to explain something the interviewer already knew and just ask so he could be seen as asking the hard questions.

The other one that bothers me is people can never fail. Seems like we would rather have someone who has done nothing than someone who has only succeeder at 85% of what she has tried to do. Romney gets the short end of that stick. Yes his company did layoff a lot of people but they hired more than they layoff and it was a net gain. Besides don't Conservatives want him to layoff federal employees?

We need to stop all of these stupid purity test and look at not what they say or if they have committed some sin of compromise and moderation but at their entire record and over all vision of the future. If we want a leader we need to let them lead and not demand that they follow the whims of the masses and walk in lock step with everything we believe.

In theory it is the press who is tasked with helping us make informed decisions like this but instead they are all interested in providing entertainment, creating controversy and gaining personal fame. Of course in the end we can't blame anyone but ourselves since we just seem to suck it up, complain and go back for seconds.
