It seems to me that some people in this world may just in fact be deprived of tasting the greatest sandwich ever created. To my utter shock, my new girlfriend has never eaten a peanut butter and honey sandwich. Yes, that's right, not a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Peanut butter and honey. Honey is the greatest tasting substance that humans could ever taste. It's been, like, scientifically proven. Look it up. You won't find a person who has ever felt that golden nectar touch their tongue who would say that they didn't like it. Not one person.
So, peanut butter and honey, huh? Starting to sink in, isn't it? And I just don't make a standard sandwich, either. I use 3 pieces of bread. Yes, count it, 3 pieces. What you do is pretty much make a regular sandwich. Spread some peanut butter on one slice of bread and honey on the other and then combine the two. Basic, right? Then, on the slice that you spread the honey, spread more honey of the other side, that is, the side now facing you. This is key. Then spread the peanut butter on the 3rd slice and place it on top of the slice showing honey.
Now, you can put the peanut butter and honey on whatever slice you feel like. But, for me, I found the best combination to be the one I just described. You want the honey on both sides of the same slice to get that extra concentrated honey taste. Peanut butter is pretty thick, as we all know. You don't want the peanut butter masking the honey taste.
So there you have it. Peanut butter and honey belong to each other. They compliment each other very nicely. It's very terribly complicated, I know. Here is the ingredient list:
1 jar of peanut butter (preferably all-natural creamy. Crunchy peanut butter eaters are crazy)
1 jar of honey (any brand that floats your boat. If you mess up honey, you deserve to be shot)
1 loaf of white bread (forget about the wheat. We're making a freaking peanut butter and honey sandwich, for Pete's sake. Skip the healthy crap and go for the sweet white bread)
1 napkin (for excess drool)
Bonus item: A glass of cold 2% milk. Nothing makes a peanut butter and honey sandwich go down smoother.
Report back to me with your results. Dismissed.

For me, it was the fact that what Australians know as "jelly" isn't a sandwich filling

I'm curious. Is that because you assume you'd use less honey than fruit spread?
