Re: over here, we have jelly and jam, both of which are similar but not quite the same

jelly does not have actual pieces of fruit in it. It's like...it's like if you took just the fruit juice and made it into a jam.
And then what other places call "jelly", we call "jello"
Then of course, we have "preserves" which are like a jam but MORE fruity. They truly are a jam, but they're more like the old home-made jam preserves.
I keep wanting to try roo, but the boy will never buy one for me whe I'm visiting

A jam (preserve) is a jam, no matter how much actual fruit pieces are in it? Can't you people just say "this one has more fuit in it"? Then I wouldn't be confused!
And... isn't Jell-O a brand name?
*runs screaming, kicking Your Boy on the way past even though she doesn't eat Roo herself*

I have heard it is an acquired taste, often difficult to acquire.

For me, it was the fact that what Australians know as "jelly" isn't a sandwich filling

I can see that, though I think I would still prefer whole milk.

I'm curious. Is that because you assume you'd use less honey than fruit spread?
