Do you acknowledge that there is a difference between retaliating against an individual for the things they do and say versus attacking a group for things some of the members in that group do and say?
Yes I realize that there are still plenty of examples of problems with this comparison. For instance, all of the insults thrown at tea-partiers, evangelicals, atheists, muslims, politicians, lawyers, big business, and virtually every other mildly cohesive group of people with views not universally supported.
If you want to bitch about Dan Savage for the "Santorum" campaign he waged, then fine. Try not to assume that all gays support this kind of tactic.
