It doesn't surprise me. It was obvious before how insanely much pressure Li Na and other Chinese top athletes are under from the Chinese government and public. When she loses a game in such fashion against an injured Clijsters, the press conference is always going to be tough.
True, and I'm sure the Australian conference was difficult enough. But they weren't downright cruel to her.
Clijsters has played pretty well. It's a shame she hasn't stayed healthy in her career because she might have been the breakout player of this generation. I imagine I'd like her to win out of who's left. I don't care for screaming, so Azarenka and Sharapova are out. Kvitova seems so... I don't know, vanilla?
And Wozniacki really needs to start winning Grand Slams - nobody is taking her seriously as No. 1, not that she even has that spot anymore now.
I know. She has no weapons, other than her ability to defend. I like the woman a lot and I hope she works on her service game. I think she'd be a big time player if she had the ability to win service games more.
