But activist with a camera and a grudge shouldn't be that middle ground. The place will be crawling with actual media people so it isn't like there will be no monitoring. The model for the protesters now is to harass the police until you can catch one on video striking back and post it youtube. We seem to willing to accept some pathetic anti-social behavior from the protesters but then won't to get upset if the cops strike back. Whose best interest is being served by the sort of farce? Certainly not the general publics.

That is actually the main focus of the article: It is a felony for ANYONE in IL to tape police performing their duties, and with the G8 coming, along with G8 protesters, that will likely mean journalists all over the world will be arrested for doing their jobs. Someone cue Lee Greenwood.
