There are a good number of dependent full-time students, but we make little to no money that is taxable. We mostly subsist off student loans and minimal part-time. I make about 240 dollars a month, which doesn't get me anywhere near the point where I have to pay taxes.

I'm sure we aren't a significant portion, but I do wonder how much of it we are.

Oh, and did they really do "half of the American population"? Uhm, does that include all the children? the 85-year-old retirees? Because I'd say that'd skew the statistic a bit.

If you follow the link you can see that, although exactly how they arrived at that number still seems somewhat unclear.
