They worked and paid taxes - often at higher rates - for 40-45 years. Their income is now limited to SS and investment distributions, which doesn't necessarily amount to much.

I asked you about this the last time you trotted out this statistic, and I don't recall a response.

You don't have to be poor to not pay income taxes, just not generate [payroll] income.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
