They might be conflicted, or wish that their guy was the one in the running, but I can't imagine anyone would switch sides because of it. Does anyone know any passionate Hillary supporters who ended up voting for McCain?


Actually yes, and there were a fair number of people who favored Hillary and felt Obama disrespected her picking Biden and were open to embracing Palin. In general though, no, very few people who get excited about primaries switch sides if they don't like the winner and most will show up to vote for the other races and in spite of what they say beforehand about 'just not gonna vote for anyone' will go ahead and fill in the circle for the lesser of two evils even if they have to rationalize 'if I don't, some corrupt dirtbag from those damn GOP/Dem will probably fill it in for me, those bastards!'
