Very weird for a guy to win the Democratic primary without any local party leaders ever having seen him. On the other hand, Jean Schmidt LOST the GOP primary, so I already consider that seat a win.
Something about a life-long civilian calling a decorated Vietnam vet a coward never sat well with me (or the House, which has a rule prohibiting members personally attacking each other on the floor; she had to petition them to expunge the Congressional Record to avoid censure.)
