It cannot be tolerated. Everybody must be free to live and worship as they please without fear of violence, even if their religion is unpopular. One of our church buildings in our area was recently (~two years ago) burned to the ground by someone angry with our position on gay marriage. It is a surprisingly disturbing feeling to learn first hand that there are people around you in your community (seemingly) that are willing to do violence against you or your property based on your beliefs, or what they suppose you believe. And arson is obviously only the tiniest fraction of what some have had to endure. My heart breaks for the Sikhs in Wisconsin and for the Muslims in Missouri, especially those that lost their lives or the lives of someone they hold dear.
