On the other hand, that thread also features me discouraging votes by those with no patience to understand candidates and platforms (the real one, not rhetorical,) so it has something for everyone. In my defence, then as now I did not encourage people to remain ignorant and therefore not vote, but to get informed and vote accordingly. Looking at that 1930-2010 debt graph I linked for Legolas above still makes me shudder. Starving the beast has accomplished the "raise federal debt to astronomical levels at a meteoric rate" part without the "slash spending until the Air Force must hold bake sales to buy bombers" part.
