But if you average the poll and one result keep coming up as the leader again and again it is unlikely the margin of error is a factor since statistically it is unlikely that a large percentage of the polls would have the same noise. Doesn't mean the poll is accurate since there are many other factors but it does lessen the importance of the various polls published errors.

That being said a poll taken this soon after the debate is meaningless. Let’s see where we are this time next week. If Romney has closed or even lessened the gap in the majority of the polls it will matter even if the change is less than the error rate published with the polls. He doesn’t need to be ahead in the polls since historical black and democrats underperform polls but Rasmussen and Gallup have the race less than 3 points it is anyone’s game, if they show a tie I would put my money on Romney.
