so because you don't want either Dem or GOP candidate for President imlad Send a noteboard - 16/10/2012 06:13:34 PM
You are going to stay home and allow every other part of the ballot be decided by the rest of the people in your state? Too many of the non-voters seem to forget that the presidential election is only a SMALL PART of the November ballot. From statewide ballot proposals, federal Senators and Congresspeople, state senators/congresspeople, local judges, prosecutors, college boards of regents, etc. All of those things are as important (and in some ways more important) than the presidential race. And, even if you live in a decidedly red or blue state, that does not mean that the other party (parties) do not have a chance at winning any of those other positions.

When we have (on average) only half the nation deciding elections, we cannot claim to be a democracy. It is a shameful that we have as low a turn out rate as we do, and yet we call so many other nations with much higher voter turn outs un-Democratic because they elect people that disagree with our form of democracy. And yet, most of those people voted, while too many Lazy Americans sit on their butts, complain about how fucked up our system is, that we don't have good candidates, and yet refuse to do their sacred part in keeping our democracy legitimate.

Sorry, I've been dealing with UnAmerican people who might as well not have citizenship for decades now, and their arguments have never held any water with me, and the more I deal with it, the more I become convinced they are completely wrong. Real Americans take part in the system, not sit back and let others do it. If you aren't going to utilize your citizenship, you might as well renounce it.

USE IT OR LOSE IT is what the law should say.

Although, I do think there are a lot of people out there who claim to be "undecided" merely because they haven't bothered to educate themselves (at all) on what's really being decided by the election and aren't going to bother to do so before casting their votes.

I'm not at all concerned about people like us who are very decided in not voting. While I know very well I would vote for Obama, if I were going to vote, I've chosen rather firmly not to vote this year. As an Obama supporter in Oklahoma, my vote doesn't matter, and I want them to see that it doesn't matter rather than lie to me and say it does just to boost their chances of getting a "mandate". I don't want either candidate to get a mandate. I do want everyone to see how broken the system is in that all incentive to vote for most people is completely artificial.
Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.
