it would be best to do them in a controlled medical environment, rather than in some back alley with no concept of instrument sterilization. or even worse, in another country which *does* allow the practice. or even worse than that, by the women sterilizing themselves trying to do an abortion at home, or killing themselves because they cannot live with the stress of being pregnant, regardless of the circumstances that impregnated them.
