I feel safe saying the thing is no better or worse than Graceland, or frankly the pyramids, as gigantic and obnoxious wastes of time go.

Alternatively, if the model actually does take up 88 acres, which would make it like 2500 feet in diameter and bigger than an aircraft carrier or the whole damn Pentagon... yeah, I think I'd be all for that.
The guy behind it talked about having a camp type set up there, so groups could come to stay and learn skills like welding. I'd guess that will take up some space.
He might well have planned for needing land around it, if he's going to have any form of visitor centre etc when it is finished.
