He ran in 2004 and 2010 thus his next re-election was 2016. It was not like he ran this year and decided he got a better job so the voters.
Yes we should live in a culture where it is dishonorable to not serve your full term, unless something happen and you can't serve your post to the best of your state's consistent, but this isn't the world we live in. We have low exception of our congress people and DeMint is leaving congress far better than some other past congress people.

I am glad to see him gone though even though he will be replaced with another Republican from South Carolina, DeMint was a real piece of work in my mind.
