i'd say pissing off the single industry that employs pretty much everyone who works for a living in michigan can hardly be described as a great thing.
Tend to do foolish things. And when they do, they can be held responsible for their activities. If these people don't show up to work, they get to be no longer employeed. In a state where unemployment is so high, I'm guessing there are those out there who would take the work.

Yeah, good luck getting a job there. The auto industry has made all kinds of cuts over the last several years. Our dependence on them is the reason we have such high unemployment now. When the auto industry was in trouble, we lost lots of jobs. Now that the industry has stabilized, those jobs aren't coming back, and I doubt they ever will.
