I really shouldn't bother but I will try one more time to introduce you to rational thought. HyogaRott Send a noteboard - 16/07/2013 05:31:12 AM

We covered the self defense laws rather thoroughly in the other thread, so I will simply refer you back to them, and offer a summation.

Following Martin for any, or no, reason, does not preclude Zimmerman from claiming self defense. Being followed by Zimmerman did not give Martin a LEGAL right to initiate a physical confrontation.

There is absolutely no reliable evidence that Zimmerman initiated the physical confrontation. There is physical evidence that suggests that Martin initiated the physical confrontation.

Martin not having a "weapon" or being "unarmed" is not relevant because nobody ever claimed he utilized any weapon other than his body. A human body, even one without physical training, can be a deadly weapon (are you really so far gone as to need cited examples of this, or are you willing to be at least that logical?).

Your personal feelings of what should have happens, or hypothesis (you have no proof, nor any way to test them so even calling them a hypothesis is a stretch) is about as useful as used toilet paper.

The US legal system is based upon a presumption of innocence, the state must PROVE you committed a crime, they could not do so even though they violated several rules of law to attempt to do so, and are facing various sanctions because of it.

Your assertions about Martin, and your silly accusations about a smear campaign about him are laughable. There is plenty of documentation about what sort of person he was, and your attempt to portray him as some sort of angelic child makes the rest of your arguments worthless.

As for your pathetic (and yes I used the term specifically) ranting about the injustice for blacks, and how this is hunting season, you really just need to stop. If I must, I and many others can cite plenty of instances of this exact situation with the "race" reversed. Hell there is one going on right now that is even in Florida, but you aren't seeing any media attention because the shooter is a black female, and the dead guy is white.

Furthermore, you have no idea what my "race" is (I prefer human), nor what my life experiences have been, so step down from your high horse.

Legal is not, never has been, never will be, nor should it ever be synonymous with Logic. Nor is it supposed to be "fair" to the individual. Laws are crafted for the group. Your obvious desire to have Zimmerman lynched is beyond dumb because what you want to take away from Zimmerman, cause you apparently don't like him, is you or someone you love may well need tomorrow.

Both Martin and Zimmerman make rash, and stupid decisions that night. As a result Martin is dead, and Zimmerman will have to live with that horror the rest of his life. None of this changes the fact that Zimmerman's actions were not criminal. Additionally, his actions would not have been criminal in ANY of the 50 states, nor under any federal law.
