I won't argue that a McDonald's cheeseburger has pretty good nutritional value for its price.

What a found nutty was the way he quickly segued from an interesting point about access to nutrition for low income families into ranting about liberals and Marxists.

He could have written a thought provoking article about the lack of access to good quality food and nutrition for poorer people, but instead he wanted to rant about snooty, elitist liberals.

Certainly, a lot of organic and locally sourced food advocates are quite nutty and should draw criticism, but the way he went about constructing his "argument" is why I called him a nut.
