We need to get away from the idea that Russia has a legitimate sphere of influence over other sovereign nations and they have the right use force and bully tactics to force these nations to bow to their will. We also need to stop treating Russia like a super power. Their economy is crap and their government crippled by corruption and their military is a shell that without nukes would hold up about as Iraq’s if it faced the US military. I say let Ukraine join NATO and tell Putin to pound sand. Wars have consequences, even cold ones, and Russia lost. Putin’s power comes the idea he is strong man who can restore Russian glory, an little humiliation would do wonders for that.
