I widsh this country could have a real discussion on healthcare reform random thoughts Send a noteboard - 30/11/2014 11:52:15 PM

But sadly I don't see it happening soon. We have the tiger by the tail and don't see anyway to let go that doesn't crash some major portion of our healthcare system. I would like to start with real tort reform and disconnecting insurance from employment. They are both major drivers in our runaway spending. The left is delusional if they can take the profit out of the system without crashing it and it is to expensive to just give to everyone. The right is delusional in thinking that what we have now is sustainable of a free market system. My very conservative father gets his healthcare through Medicare and the VA with a small policy to for prescriptions and to make up for what Medicare won't pay. Is strongly opposed to socialized medicine and wants nothing to with it.

My major problem with Obama Care is it just expanded a broken system and made the problem worse by requiring things like free birth control and killing things that affordable for the young like catastrophic coverage. It is bad enough that the young are being asked to pay for their much richer grandparents health care but now they are being forced to get policies they don't need to supplement their parents healthcare as well.
