I had plenty of friends who were only able to get affordable birth control or IUDs because of Planned Parenthood.
I doubt that. I think you have friends who patronize Planned Parenthood and justify it by spouting absurdities like this. A. What kind of place has absolutely no doctors or pharmacies, but DOES have a fully stocked Planned Parenthood office? B. The human race did an amazing job without IUDs or the pill for years, even managing to avoid pregnancy for centuries. Then there is also the fact that they are no more essential or vital services than a beer can holder helmet. In each case, it might be a preferred medium of debauchery, but is only "necessary" for some individual's preferred means of a particular type of recreation. You don't need to have sex. You don't need IUDs or birth control to have sex. You do not need them to avoid impregnation during sexual intercourse, and you do not need Planned Parenthood to provide them. If you cannot get them any other way, you are still not entitled to public funds to acquire them, especially not through a means that hundreds of millions of people find morally repugnant.
How does anyone else get medicine or anything? They sell birth control in Walmart and the supermarket, as well as every drug store, and even gas stations. And even if they didn't have any other access, we are hardly talking about essential services here. If you want those services, do what everyone else does and pay for them your own damn self. Or move somewhere where they are more cheaply available. Everything costs, and no one is entitled to a free lunch. You make you decisions, and live with the consequences. If you cannot afford the time, effort, money or other costs of moving, then accept the costs of staying. Don't expect everyone else to subsidize your choice.
