You're the idiot trying (again) to use an extreme outlier case as the basis for law. Cannoli Send a noteboard - 29/09/2015 11:42:58 PM

the Texas hospital that literally kept a brain dead woman alive because her unborn fetus MUST be carried to term is not a women's health issue? http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Pregnant-Brain-Dead-Texas-Woman-Kept-Alive-238644521.html

the Irish hospital that refused to allow a woman an abortion to remove a literally dead fetus from her, which resulted in her death is not a women's health issue? http://www.cnn.com/2012/11/14/world/europe/ireland-abortion-controversy/

women die all over the world from lack of abortion services, including an average of 10 per year in the US. not a women's health issue?

That's bullshit. No one is morally opposed to procedures that save the mother's life at the cost of the fetus. And it is not remotely what Planned Parenthood does, and your own claims support mine. If there were ANY other procedure that was performed as often as abortion, with as many deaths due to lack of access to that procedure, people would say things are fine, and under control, so sad about those deaths, but it's an imperfect world, and you can't save everyone. The vast majority of abortions are procured for reasons of convenience, and NOT for women's health. A family car makes many trips to the hospital, often carrying it a patient. That does not make it an ambulance, or allow the vehicle to be purchased through medical insurance.

That a procedure and institution in widespread use to alleviate the inconveniences of degenerate sexual behavior can occasionally be used to save a life does not make its legality an issue of women's health, any more than drug decriminalization (which I support) is about alleviating medical suffering. They are both about recreation, holding up the rare outlier cases as camouflage, like a criminal organization's charity work.

meanwhile we have a political party that is so averse to facts, that it's willing to shut down the government AGAIN over provably faked videos.

It's not about the videos. The only people bothered by the videos are abortion supporters using their shortcomings as a strawman argument. They make a lot of noise about some videos they believe they can refute, to avoid confronting the reality of abortion. The Republican party has always been opposed to abortion and to Planned Parenthood, or at least its base has. That is a fact that even your more insane leftwing conspiracy theorists like Joel would not deny. This is not over the videos, at most, they present an excuse to do what they want to do out of principle anyway. If Planned Parenthood was not at issue before the videos, why was there all the fuss over Sandra Fluke?
AND is willing to pretend that any and all lies it can possibly tell are all actually truth, and abortion providers are going around looking for fetal brains to harvest for profit.

Who cares if they do? Even if they are not, abortion is still wrong. I don't care how many people were helped by Nazi medical research, the Holocaust was not justified. And if someone came out tomorrow with proof that the human lampshades were a hoax, it would still not lessen the guilt of Himmler and Mengele and the rest. The fact of a murderer being a murderer is rather more significant than what he does with his victim's bodies afterwards.
and yes it is 100% the republicans' fault, but i'm sure you have another set of lies to throw out to prove it's not...

Why won't the Democrats compromise on an issue that is obviously important to the Republicans? If so many Republicans are opposed to it, how can you justify spending tax dollars on it? Their motives don't matter, the fact is, they have a perfect right to their preferences, and those are all they need to vote as they wish.
