Although a significant part of me is wondering about said deadbeat kid, how he's really that vile, etc. I don't doubt you, Missa, it just seems like a painful situation for anyone. I guess I always wonder about/have sympathy for such people because I've done some pretty bad things myself.
But from what my sister-in-law has told me, she cried hysterically when she found out she was pregnant (while still married) because she knew she would be going through it alone. She wasn't sure what was worse: going through the pregnancy and parenthood alone because the husband wouldn't be a part of it, or bringing a child into that marriage with the husband's involvement.
