This issue is quite relative to the person. For someone like me that believes in total social egalitarianism, it's problematic for anyone to bow to anyone else unless both parties bow. Then it has become a way to say hello, like a handshake. But if only one party bows, then it is a problem for me. Then it is a leftover from an extremely hierarchical time period.

Also, I don't ever remember you curtsying to me when we met.
