Even though it's not particularly difficult for me to stay awake, working overnight fucks up my next couple of days.

But i think "shifting" shifts would be alright, just because i dislike repetition. A little variation would be nice from time to time, but, y'know, different strokes for different folks and all that. i can see why you might need more consistency than that.
