How do you have intimate conversations, and build deep connections? I'm good with groups, but one on one, it's always weird.


It takes years before it happens. Some of my closer friends I got to know in my last year of college, and some after.

Some of them I found after hours of chatting on the internets, and then years chatting with them before I met them in person.

It takes time.

And yes, one on one is weird. I always get caught up in how uncomfortable it is to be face to face, body to body. I'm always a little concerned with how close they are, and if I am being too distant in return.

Don't get me started on people who touch your arm or shoulder or whatever. Hands off, bitches.

Biut when it does click, ever so slowly, I find it's a combination of exchange of personal information, both requested and volunteered, almost never at the beginning demanded, and a clear wya of expressing interests and similarities, and an amicable way of sorting differences. It's...

One day you wake up and realise there's someone new whose birthday you want to remember.

<shrugs>

But it takes time. Especially if they touch. Bitches.
