Remember kids, the vast majority of women out there are shallow bimbos who will only love you if you look like Brad Pitt or are rich. If you find one of the extremely rare ones who are not selfish bitches out to crush a man's heart, be sure to latch onto her and place her on a pedestal because surely, she's your only chance at happiness (bonus points if she knows this, because every women likes to be thought of as some desperate guy's only chance).

Remember, women are desirable, wonderous things to possess, so be sure to treat them that way. Woman love to be thought of as possessions as long as you're flattering about it.

Gah, what is wrong with you?? There is a reason people who think like the above paragraphs don't get women, but it isn't the reason they think.

And no offense to your position, but I didn't get anything quite so offensive out of his post. To some degree, he's doing what you say (the Brad Pitt line was unfortunate), but he is mostly saying that when you do find a woman who loves you, that's an important thing to see and cherish- especially if she doesn't share these particular hobbies. I actually happen to know that his point is not that far off base, because I've seen it before, and two people very close to me are currently going through the WoW divorce. They thought they loved each other enough that it wouldn't matter that he preferred to stay home and play games while she was the "often out with friends, to the movies etc, shopper personality."

I'm not saying it's true for everyone, nor that most women are shallow or anything of the kind. Just that if your personalities/hobbies differ widely and you can still love each other, that is pretty big.
