To the contrary Isaac Send a noteboard - 19/02/2010 07:07:40 PM
I've never heard of a religion banning its adherents from eating, say, at a kosher deli because the food wasn't dedicated to "their" god.

Well, of the modern ones it's less common, but as an example, whereas muslims and jews can only eat meet which is halal or kosher, Sikhism specifcally allows chicken and lamb, but not if they are kosher or halal. The Sikh rules on meat are limited only to not eating meat which has been killed in any ritual fashion, they also refrain from alcohol, which I believe is their only across the board dietary ban, they do not eat in exclusively halal or kosher restuarants, but to the bes tof my knowledge can eat in restuarants which serve halal or or kosher food, so long as they don't consume it. Such being the case, they might be allowed to eat in one of those Quick's since they serve beer, which is haraam, thus not strictly halal cuisine is served, but since they can not drink beer either, there is no food at those places they can eat or drink, and consider the sole exception to halal is a substance they banned, I'd guess that Sikhs would probably view the place as forbidden, regardless they could not eat there.
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
