In Israel for example, the retirement age for men is 65 while 60 for women. That means men work 5 more years, and those are the highest paying years of their career, usually. If you take that into account, an attemp to reach average equal pay is both wrong and unfair.

A quick look in wikipedia shows this to be the case in 2 out of the 12 European countries + USA which have retirement age listed (data from OECD). So women retiring earlier is far from some kind of general rule.

This whole talk is just BS in my opinion. A female enginner will earn just as much as her male counterparts in any serious company that I know of.

And here in Sweden, women make 7% less than men even after differences due to type of job, education, age and amount of time worked are taken into account. It'd be great if you could show statistics that show that is not the case in Israel.
