Now that person is a disruption to morale not the gay. Besides that, form everyone I've talked to in the military (or ex-military) knows good and well that they served with gays and that the gays did their jobs just as well as the non-gays. In the end I doubt there is a lot of time to be worrying about who is gay and who isn't when soldiers are focused on trying to do their jobs and (in combat situations) stay alive.
This has nothing to do with the fact that gays make good soldiers and everything to do with political ideology.
