I believe the material required for the spell is a diamond worth 5,000 gold pieces, and it's a rather high level spell that most clerics in the world shouldn't be.

But that's just DnD as I know it It could have changed with 4th edition, or just the way your DM plays the game

The ARROWS they were shooting at me were worth a couple of hundred gold each. $5k is chump change to them.

Anyway. As to your "friend".

What. A. Child. Grow up, it's just a game and the definitions of alignment are defined by the DM's guide anyways. The DM's guide would clearly demarcate your character's actions as "good but nonlawful", which is exactly what your character is.

That's my reading of it too. However his interpretation is that he cannot see it as in any way negative because it's the guard. As if the guard never once did anything bad. Yep.

Furthermore, there is no point trying to argue real-life ethics with someone over the actions of their fictional character. It's a waste of breath for all parties and detracts from the game's enjoyment.

I'd have to say that if your friend left the DnD group, you all would be better off.

I'm sick enough of this that I may stop playing. I don't need this kind of drama and hurtfulness in my life.
May God stand between you and harm in all the empty places you must walk.

Why do YOU have be cleared of evil charges? Why does it matter if he calls you evil? - 08/03/2010 12:38:17 AM 426 Views
Because he's taken it out of the game - 08/03/2010 06:03:37 AM 411 Views
