spelling is different true but still named after the same guy. And if they have removed Zavala from Texas history then they are wrong and it should be corrected. Did they do that or are you just assuming they did?
I'm not even assuming they did, just recognizing the possibility if they're downplaying the role of Mexicans in the Texas Revolution. The article doesn't say exactly what "efforts to include more Latino figures" entailed, so I can't say either way, but if they left the ones currently covered and simply declined to add more, probably neither has been removed.
