There are a lot of healthy food that doesn't cost that much to eat. With smart shopping fresh produce isn't expensive. Wheat bread cost the same as white bread and even the fancy multi grain bread isn't that much more expensive.
But multi-grain IS more expensive, and wheat is the same as eating white in most cases. So what if multi-grain is more? Well, think about multiplying that times all 50 of the items you're buying. If the healthy option is a couple bucks more expensive in every case, it adds up.
And convenient foods are crap, so you have to think ahead to be healthy, in most cases. That's not always easy.
