The graphics are acceptable on a high end system (not great, but passable at least), and they will still run on a shit system. Upgrading the graphics would kill that huge range of systems that they run on. Until people start abandoning the game in droves, they have no reason at all to abandon the mid-low range graphics that have allowed them to be so universally accessible.

.....Yes, I know, that isn't much of debate, but I'm drunk, and that's as close as I can get to making a coherent argument right now.
