It's all one underground. The fact that they didn't cut out the parts they didn't use any individual time is what tells me that it is what they were going for. It's why the game was played out entirely in and around Kirkwall, rather than spread out through many locations, like it could have been. Repeated use of the dungeons was no more lazy than the repeated use of Hightown, or the Hanged Man.

I specifically said it made sense for you to visit places repeatedly. What does not make sense is that places that are weeks of travel away from each other are identical.

I don't really need to make excuses... I enjoyed the game, played it enough to get my moneys worth and more. It's curious to me that you were so thrown over... what? Wallpaper? There was story there, relationships, politics, gameplay. Plenty to get into.

I refer you to my earlier post regarding the game's failure on all of these levels.

Also, the "wallpaper" is an integral part of gameplay (or at least it was supposed to be before they decided fighting wasn't going to be tactical any more). You use the environment to your advantage in these games. Judging by your post, you played on a relatively low difficulty.

Weren't you one of the folks complaining about the DRM? Is it possible that you let the politics of the publishers interfere with your enjoyment of the game? Or was this a first shot at a Bioware product and maybe they're just not your thing?

I've played close to half of the Bioware corpus, which gives me an excellent vantage point to see how far and how quickly they have fallen. Obviously it's not m my first, since I played DA: O, a superior game in virtually every respect. My problem with EA politics is that they force once-good developers to turn out dating sims with a thin veneer of gameplay and plot.

DRM is exceptionally annoying, but I care rather more about DLC.

Point of fact: in DA: O you're fighting the Fifth Blight, not the First. - 09/04/2011 10:10:17 PM 917 Views
