I've been between games for awhile now, ever since I dropped my MMOs back in the summer. I have a few things I can play but nothing that scratches my itch. That was okay, I had lots of other stuff to do too. But lately I've been craving a new game in a bad way, something to really sink my teeth into. I haven't been able to get anything because I knew that right away, very soon, I would enter a period of glorious gaming bounty, a golden age that would never pass from this Earth, if only I could last long enough to reach it.

So I've waited, and I've waited, and now at long last my full return to single player gaming is nearly at hand.

On Saturday I expect to be getting, at long last, a copy of Red Dead Redemption, a game I've been wanting to try for some time. This is because Saturday is my birthday. Then, less than a week later, Skyrim is released upon a populace that is not prepared. Long before I finish those two games, Diablo 3 will be released, granting me dozens if not hundreds of more hours of gameplay. Sometime in there, when it goes on sale, I'll pick up Arkham City to further extend the beautiful madness.

They will find me with my eyes burned out and the controller welded to my grasp, and they will shed a single tear, not of regret, nor pity, nor bitter sadness, but of joy that one man should have been blessed in his time with such an exit.

But until then, for the next five days, I'm stuck yearning for a new game. To what do you turn in the needy silence before a new release storm?
